Worship at St. John's

Sunday is the primary day on which the Church assembles: the first day of creation when God transformed darkness into light and the day on which Christ rose from death and revealed himself to his disciples in the scriptures and the breaking of bread.

The people of God gather to hear the word, to pray for those in need, to offer thanks to God, to receive communion, and to be renewed for the daily witness to faith, hope, and love. To guests, strangers, and all in need, the Church offers these good things of God's grace.

Our Worship is Enhanced by:
  • Preaching of the word - Gaining an understanding of the word of God and what it means to each of us and our lives is central to worship. The word of God provides each of us young and old with a foundation for everyday life. Our Pastor supports us in our understanding of the word by weaving everyday experience into sermons supporting the spiritual needs of the members and their children.

  • Music - Organists using both organ and piano accompany the congregation with familiar and new songs enhancing the worship experience for all.

  • Choirs - Our active Senior and Children's choirs bless us with special arrangements throughout the year.

  • Special Services - The seasons of the Christian calendar provide us with an opportunity to prepare and celebrate the events which form the foundation of our Christian tradition. Special services are held giving us the opportunity to renew and strengthen our understanding of the Christian faith and its role in our daily lives.
